Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics are shoe inserts that are designed to specifically address the unique needs of an individual's feet. They are typically made from material such as foam, plastic and carbon fiber with intention to provide support, cushioning, and correction for various foot and gait abnormalities.

When we have poor mechanics within our feet, the way we walk or stand can impact our whole-body structure and cause musculoskeletal imbalances. As a result, someone with poor foot mechanics and abnormalities can experience pain directly in their feet, or further up in the ankles, knees, hips, and/or back. The use of custom orthotics is a way to address these abnormalities by improving functional patterns and structure.

The benefits of custom orthotics include:

  • Pain relief: Custom orthotics can help alleviate pain in the feet, ankles, knees, hips, and lower back by providing proper support and alignment.

  • Improved performance: Custom orthotics can help athletes and active individuals improve their performance by enhancing balance, stability, and shock absorption.

  • Prevention of foot problems: Custom orthotics can prevent or delay the development of foot problems such as plantar fasciitis, flat feet, and bunions.

  • Increased comfort: Custom orthotics are designed to fit the unique shape of an individual's feet, providing customized support and cushioning for maximum comfort.

  • Better overall foot health: Custom orthotics can help promote overall foot health by reducing stress on the feet, improving gait and posture, and preventing future foot problems.
