Acupuncture & Cupping

Traditional Chinese acupuncture involves the use of extremely fine needles over acupuncture points to re-balance the flow of energy (Qi) through pathways in the body (meridians) to treat different health issues. Acupuncture is commonly used to treat pain, internal conditions, as well as facilitating the self-healing process of the body, by stimulating sensory nerves, muscles, and connective tissues. Alternatively, acupressure can be used to achieve similar effects by using fingers, instead of needles, to apply a force on the same points.

Cupping is a traditional technique in Chinese medicine that utilizes suction cups on the skin to improve blood flow, alleviate muscle tension, and encourage healing. In the present days, it is a technique used frequently by acupuncturists and other physical therapists for pain management.

Our acupuncturists use cupping, acupuncture and other techniques such as heat therapy and Tuina to bring healing to the body. Some of the conditions they commonly work with may include:

  • Chronic pain management

  • Common cold, asthma and sinusitis

  • Headaches, migraines and insomnia

  • Gynecological related conditions
